Community Development Center Nepal (CDC Nepal) is committed to ensuring the safety, dignity, and protection of all children and vulnerable individuals who come into contact with our programs, activities, staff, volunteers, and partners. This Child Protection and Safeguarding Policy outlines our commitment to preventing harm, abuse, exploitation, and neglect.
CDC Nepal believes that every child has the right to live in a safe environment and to be protected from all forms of violence, abuse, exploitation, and discrimination.
1. Purpose of the Policy
The purpose of this policy is to:

2. Definition of a Child
For the purpose of this policy, a child is defined as any person under the age of 18 years, regardless of gender, nationality, ethnicity, religion, or social background.

All staff, volunteers, and representatives of CDC Nepal must follow these guidelines when interacting with children:

Any violation of these standards will be taken seriously and may result in disciplinary action.
5. Reporting Safeguarding Concerns
CDC Nepal encourages staff, volunteers, and community members to report any suspected or actual child protection concerns.
Reports should be made immediately to the designated safeguarding focal person or the organization’s management team. All concerns will be handled confidentially and investigated appropriately.

CDC Nepal will regularly review and update this Child Protection and Safeguarding Policy to ensure it remains effective and aligned with national laws and international standards.
